The grounds have been created in the lush native New Zealand bush to provide a tranquil resting place which is sensitive and sympathetic to the natural environment. Sit by the stream and watch the sun’s reflection on the water. Immerse yourself in the music of the native birds in the bush-clad Coromandel ranges, which offer shelter in this magical setting.
Renowned for its natural beauty, green pastures, misty rainforests and pristine golden beaches, The Coromandel is blessed with hundreds of natural hideaways, making it an ideal place to escape.
Gold was first discovered in the Whangarahi stream (Driving creek) in 1852. Cathedral Cove, walking the Pinnacles, Coromandel Coastal Walkway and Karangahake, the Hauraki Rail Trail are some of the highlights in the Coromandel.
On the fringe of Coromandel Town is the popular Driving Creek Railway, where you can view some of New Zealand’s finest ceramic art and enjoy the bush or simply relax over a coffee at the bohemian Driving Creek Café on the way.
